MEGHAN MARKLE fans have questioned the timing of Princess Beatrice’s engagement announcement during the Duchess of Sussex’s Africa tour with Prince Harry.
Beatrice’s engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was announced today. But some royal followers have commented on the timing of the news as Meghan and Harry are currently on an overseas tour of Africa.
One Twitter user said: “Convenient for Beatrice to announce her engagement while Harry and Meghan are on tour. Great timing I must say. ”
Another tweeted:“ It’s more like Beatrice hogging the limelight during Meghan’s South African tour. Couldn’t she have waited for a couple of days? ”
However, others rushed to Beatrice’s defense and one posted: “Wish people would stop thinking the Royal Family begins and ends with Meghan Markle, Princess Beatrice has been part of Royal Family since birth and should be able to announce her engagement when ever she feels like it if the Queen approves who the hell is everyone else to judge. ”
Meanwhile another scathingly attacked the Duchess , saying: “Betcha Meghan will announce her second pregnancy around Beatrice’s wedding. Hogging the limelight again. ”

Meghan is currently in South Africa with four-month-old Archie, while Harry is in Botswana and will also travel to Angola and Malawi during the 10 – day trip.
Earlier today, Buckingham Palace announced that Beatrice, who is ninth in line to the throne, and Mr Mapelli Mozzi will wed next year.

In a joint statement, Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi said: “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.
“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.
“We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew said: “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got en gaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride.

Taking to social media, the Duchess of York added: “I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy.

Beatrice showed off her dazzling diamond engagement ring in pictures released to mark the engagement.
The sparkler was designed by Mr Mapelli Mozzi in conjunction with British jeweler Shaun Leane.
Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s families have known one another for many years.

The couple are said to have started their romance around the time of Princess Eugenie’s wedding last October.
Beatrice will become a stepmother to Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s young son named Wolfie with ex-fiancee Dara Huang.
