Nicola Sturgeonstuttered in her response as BBC’s Andrew Marrinsisted that under the SNP’s plans they would not be able to reform the common fisheries policy. Ms Sturgeon insisted that she and the SNP had long been committed to reforming the fisheries policy. However, she added that Brexit would have a negative impact on the fishing community as they rely heavily on migrant labor.

Mr Marr said: “You have just come down from Aberdeenshire where you have been campaigning lots and lots of marginal constituencies up there.

“Have you been frank with the Scottish fishing community that under your plans you will not be able to reform the common fisheries policy? ”

While stuttering Ms Sturgeon replied:“ We have been longterm advocates of reform of the common fisheries policy.

“Even in the days when the Conservatives were taking the UK into the common fisheries policy .

“Treating fishing as expendable in the wider interest of the UK.

“ The SNP has been arguing for reform of the common fisheries policy.

“But what we have always been frank with the fishing co mmunity about which the Tories haven’t.

“That yes, more control over the Scottish waters is important but so is being able to process our fish .

“Fish processes rely on a lot of migrant labor and also being able to sell our fish in market.

Earlier in the interview, Andrew Marr demanded Nicola Sturgeon apologise for failing parents and children amid the SNP’s shocking NHS record.

Ms Sturgeon was taken to task for failing to hit six of Scotland’s eight NHS targets during her time in power.

Marr said that Ms Sturgeon could not hide behind Westminster for Scotland’s NHS record, pointing out that the SNP had complete control of Scottish healthcare.

Marr said: “According to polling, health comes second to Brexit in what Scottish people are interested in at this election. You have a pretty poor record on health. “

The Scottish First Minister admitted that Scotland faced challenges on health, but insisted the rest of the UK faces these challenges as well.

The BBC host hit back: “But you are in charge of the NHS in Scotland. When was the last time you hit your own A&E target? When was the last time you hit your cancer target? ”

Ms Sturgeon struggled to respond to these questions, admitting that the SNP “Had not hit our A&E target for quite some time”.
