ITV political editor Robert Peston took to Twitter immediately after Mr Corbyn’s Labor Party ran scared of a general election demand from Mr Johnson, adding the veteran left-winger would only commit to a major ballot should no deal be taken off the table in Brexit negotiations. This prompted Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg to declare the reason Labor are against the ballot is because they are “afraid of the people” would vote. Mr Peston said the actions of the three anti-Brexit parties risks backfiring and forcing the UK into a no deal Brexit.
He said: “The risk for Labor, SNP and LibDems in saying they will block @ BorisJohnson’s 12 Dec election, even before EU leaders have decided whether to give the requested 3-month Brexit delay, is they send message to EU leaders that parliament has no **** to end the Brexit uncertainty.
“In which case it would reinforce @ EmmanuelMacron’s case that Brexit delay should be very short, to just 15 Dec, to get the deal passed, or not.
“So Johnson’s letter may be cleverer than the opposition parties think, and more dangerous for them.”

Regardless of Labor saying no for the fourth time to a general election, Mr Johnson and his team will table a motion for one to be held on December 15.
French President Emmanuel Macron has said he will veto any lengthy delay to Brexit.
On Thursday, when mention of a general election was debated in the Commons again, Mr Corbyn was mocked for storming off from his seat.

Mr Rees-Mogg said the Government will table a motion in the Commons calling for a general election on Monday.
But he could not help taking a swipe at the Labor leader as he noticed him getting up to leave.
Mr Rees-Mogg said: “Earlier today I was actually praising Mr Corbyn and today I am able to quote him, because his words are words of wisdom.

” That election needs to take place as soon as this governments threat of a disastrous no deal is taken off the table.

Mr Corbyn was seen shaking his head while stood next to Speaker John Bercow as Mr Rees-Mogg spoke.
