Integration Platform Engineer (Java)

At Ready Education, we are building mobile tools that help students succeed in school. We work with hundreds of universities and colleges across the world, helping them better engage their students, improve the student life experience on their campuses, and ensuring that they ultimately provide success for their students.

As an integration platform engineer, you will be working on the core part of our platform that integrates with the technology ecosystems of our client universities. You will work alongside our other talented and highly collaborative engineers to ensure that our platform is flexible, scalable, maintainable, and can be efficiently and seamlessly implemented across hundreds of schools in a reliable way.

You will:

• Work on the core integration components of our platform, which is used across all of our university clients. This is critical for the proper functioning of our entire platform
• Help improve our platform architecture and ensure the reliability and scalability of our backend integration services as we scale
• Participate in the architecture planning / design process to help shape how the foundation of our platform connects with various other school systems
• Help to continuously improve the development process of our entire engineering team

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have extensive experience with Java, including experience with some Java web frameworks (eg Spring, Hibernate) and servers (Tomcat)
• Have extensive experience working with various APIs (eg REST), integrating / using them to handle data
• Have experience working with various RDBMS (eg MySQL), be knowledgeable of the common patterns in SQL queries and query optimizations
• Have experience working with some key-value store databases (e.g. Redis, memcache)
• Have experience working with Git-based version control, and within a pull / merge request based teamwork process

Nice to haves:

• Have experience working with various SSO providers / services (eg OAuth, SAML, LDAP)

Have experience administrating Linux-based servers

• have experience working with AWS cloud services
