Report: Falcons trade Mohamed Sanu to Patriots for second-round draft pick – AtlantaFalcons.com, Atlantafalcons.com


          

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday morning that they are trading wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots in exchange for a second-round draft pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.           

        

          

The Falcons acquired Sanu prior to the 2016 season, and he’s enjoyed the best stretch of his career since arriving in Atlanta. During his four seasons with the Falcons, Sanu caught 225 passes for 2, 507 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 14 times for 62 yards and completed two passes for

Sanu proved to be an incredibly reliable target for Matt Ryan, catching 71 .9 percent of the passes thrown his way. A go-to player on third downs, 130 of Sanu’s 225 receptions resulted in a first down for the Falcons.

Throughout his eight years in the NFL, the first four of which were spent with the Cincinnati Bengals, Sanu has 377 receptions for 4, 300 yards and 25 Receiving touchdowns. He has also proven to be one of the best non-quarterback passers since arriving in the league, completing seven of his eight pass attempts for 233 yards, four touchdowns and a perfect 158 .3 quarterback rating.
