Shantha Rangaswamy, the former India captain, has resigned from her position as a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) and director of the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) as she was served a Conflict of Interest notice by BCCI Ethics Officer DK Jain recently. Rangaswamy was a CAC member along with former Indian captain Kapil Dev and Anshuman Gaekwad

According to PTI, Rangaswamy decided to move on and taking into considerations the various parameters, she stepped down from the administrative roles by sending her resignation to Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the board’s CEO Rahul Johri via an email on Sunday.

“I have other plans so have decided to move on. The CAC was anyway meeting once in a year or once in two years so I did not understand the conflict, “she told PTI. In addition to that, Rangaswamy also accepted, “It was an honor to be on the CAC committee. It will be tough to find suitable former cricketers for any administrative role in the current scenario (conflict of interest). I would have resigned anyway before the elections were held. So it was a matter of time. “

According to the BCCI constitution, no individual can hold more than one post at the same time, and there are few others as well who have been at the receiving end of these allegations.

MPCA life member Sanjiv Gupta claimed that other CAC members. Kapil Dev is conflicted as he is a commentator, owner of a floodlight company and a member of the Indian Cricketers Association, apart from his role at the Cricket Advisory Committee. Whereas, Anshuman Gaekwad is conflicted as he owns an academy and is a member of BCCI Affiliation Committee apart from the administrative role.
