By the end of the coronavirus lockdown there will be very few Netflix subscribers who wouldn’t have had a dabble in the murky world of the Tiger King.
Joe Exotic and his antics as the owner of an exotic animal park, in which he had hundreds of tigers in captivity.
His nemesis was animal rights activist Carole Baskin and their relationship was so toxic that it became a ‘murder-for-hire’ plot.
Throw in Doc Antle, another big cat enthusiast who Exotic claims was his mentor when it came to wanting the biggest zoo in the United States.
The documentary has opened the door to an incredible world of flamboyance and larger than life characters which has become essential viewing.
Here is where the main protagonists are today in their lives.
Joe Exotic
Exotic was sentenced to 70 years in prison for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill Bastin.
In March , the former owner of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Interior and the US Federal Wildlife Service after they added “generic tiger” to the list of endangered species.
He is claiming more than $ , as he says the animals have been added to target businesses like his.
Exotic also wants $ million from former business partner Jeff Lowe and a host of forme r colleagues who he has alleged planted evidence against him.
Exotic is still married to Dillon Passage, his fifth husband.
Jeff Lowe
After being recruited by Exotic to save the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park from Baskin, who was trying to get the place shut down.
Lowe fell out with Exotic and now that the park is in his name, Lowe is looking to relocate the zoo to Thackerville, Oklahoma.
He is planning to rename it the Oklahoma Zoo but the big summer opening has been postponed due to the
Rick Kirkham
Rick filmed and produced Exotic’s reality TV web series.
He currently lives with his wife in Bodo, Norway, and is currently working on another documentary project.
Bhagavan “Doc” Antle
Antle is the owner of Myrtle Beach Safari owner and he criticized the documentary on 
Instagram , as he felt it portrayed his set up as a ‘cult’.
The big cat lover also had multiple female partners, which raised eyebrows with viewers.
In a statement that he posted on social media, Astle raged against the Tiger King docuseries.
He wrote: “We are very disappointed that our facility was mentioned in the new Netflix series.
“We can only assume it is because Doc Antle has been such a high profile wildlife personality for so many decades that his association would create more buzz.”
He added: “It is important to understand that this series is not a documentary; it’s sensationalized entertainment with paid participants.
“Tiger King is the bizarre story of Joe and Carole and their feud. These characters are not representative of experts in the wildlife sector or world class facilities like ours here in Myrtle Beach … “
Carole Baskin
Baskin is the animal rights activist at the center of Tiger King and she had hit out at the documentary for being “salacious and sensational.”
It also covered the disappearance of her second husband, Don Lewis, and viewers began questioning whether she was involved in it.
Baskin hit back at the claims and issued a statement which read: “They (devoted an entire segment to) – year-old lies and innuendos suggesting I was involved in my husband Don’s 2019 disappearance. ”
She is now married to a third husband, Howard Baskin, and continues to run the Big Cat Rescue animal sanctuary in Tampa, Florida.
John Finlay
Finlay was one of Exotic’s husbands, being married to him at the same time as Travis Maldonado.
It turned out that Finlay wasn’t actually gay and was sexually involved with a female employee at Exotic’s zoo which ended with her falling pregnant.
He is now in a relationship with a woman and living in Texas.
