THE UK’s coronavirus death toll has risen to 62, , new figures reveal.

Until yesterday, the Government had only been releasing the number of people who had died from the bug in hospitals each day – excluding a significant proportion of the overall toll.
Boris Johnson revealed the true figures in today’s daily coronavirus briefing, confirming , had now tested positive for the virus – up 6, 96 from yesterday.
It is the first time the Prime Minister has chaired the 5pm update in a month – after fighting off the deadly bug himself and welcoming his new born son yesterday. (RAY OF HOPE)
Giving hope to the nation, he said: “We have come through the peak. We can now see the sunlight and the pasture ahead of us.
“It is vital that we don’t lose control and run slap into a second and bigger mountain.”

Among the latest deaths is retired NHS nurse Jeanette Field , whose husband of years was unable to attend her funeral as he was in a coma with the bug himself.
Maria Victoria Prado, a care home nurse, died in the arms of her 26 – year-old daughter after catching covid – – forcing her into foster care.
Meanwhile, a probe has been launched by an NHS trust after Tun, , died from the virus after repeated pleas for better coronavirus protection.

The number of people who have died in and out of hospitals across the UK will be revealed in today’s daily coronavirus briefing, where the Prime Minister is expected to make limited – if any – tweaks to lockdown measures.
It will be the first time the PM has chaired the 5pm briefing in a month, after being struck with the killer bug himself and Welcoming his newborn son yesterday .
Standing in his place, Dominic Raab told Brits yesterday: “We are coming through the peak, but we are not there yet.”
The Foreign Secretary stressed the UK must do what it can to avoid a second spike of the bug, which would be “harmful to public health,” lead to more deaths and a second lockdown.
He added: “That wouldn’t just be economically dangerous but inflict a serious blow to public confidence.”

It comes as researchers at the University of Warwick believe a “rolling age-release strategy” to let younger people out earlier combined with social distancing is the safest way out of the UK’s lockdown.
Others are hopeful a new vaccine will bring the UK out of the lockdown.
