BRITAIN is bracing for bitterly cold temperatures once again as freezing fog hits with the risk of snowfall in some parts of the country, according to the latest weather charts. The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for some parts of Britain.

The UK is bracing for temperatures to plummet with the risk of freezing fog and snow before heavy rain and powerful winds hit later this week. Wintry conditions have blitzed some parts of the country over the weekend and some parts of Scotland have reported heavy snow hitting on Monday afternoon. The Met Office has even issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for some parts of Scotland as the wintry conditions worsen.
And temperatures are likely to dip below freezing overnight with Britons expecting to wake up to freezing fog.According to the latest weather forecast charts – the risk of snowfall across parts of Scotland dramatically increases overnight.
The UK is at risk of snow throughout Monday evening and into the early hours of Tuesday.
BBC Weather forecaster Simon King warned about temperatures tumbling overnight.
He said: “We have had a rather wintry feel over the past few days, this morning there was some ice across Northern Ireland and Scotland, there was a bit of snow and some hail over the weekend.

Showers through in the north of Northern Ireland, and some cloud and patchy rain in the southeast of England – otherwise it is dry and bright. ”
He added: “Through tonight we will continue with that rain across the southeast of England, still some showers in the north.

“So some freezing fog patches into tomorrow morning. Down in the southeast temperatures staying up around 7C.
“A chilly start to the week – temperatures will gradually rise by the end of the week – and with that, it will turn wetter and windier. ”
A Met Office yellow weather warning is also in place for snow and ice in Scotland from 4pm on Monday until 9am on Tuesday.
The warning reads: “Following earlier rain and snow and with further showers to come in some parts overnight, icy patches are likely to develop at times.
