Bellerin t he latest to try his luck but the effort is significantly wayward.

It’s started feeling even more pre-seasony than pre-season itself. The game is being played at 20% pace.

80 ”

Here comes Aubameyang, who replaces Nelson.

Just what Standard want to see when they are already 4-0 down.

78 ”

Efforts from Torreira and Ceballos are blocked by defenders.

It’s as close as Arsenal have come for the past 15 minutes.

Aubameyang looks set to come on, there’s a bit of movement on the sideline.

As the game filters out, here’s for goal-based picture action for your enjoyment.

Still plenty of time for more …

Sub for Arsenal, the second one of the day.

Guendouzi replaces the excellent Willock.

74 ‘

The Standard players have basically just given up, here.

In possession they are very slow and look devoid of any belief they can do anything.

Which, in fairness, is credit to Arsenal and how they have worn them down throughout this game.

69 ‘

First involvement for Pepe as he goes down and claims for a penalty .

It looks like a solid tackle and the referee is not interested.

67 ‘

Change for Arsenal.

It’s £ 72 m man Pepe who is coming on.

He replaces Maitland-Niles.

66 ”

Don’t be surprised if Tierney gets man of the match this afternoon.

The Scot has been brilliant down the left-hand side.

He’s shown quality, experience beyond his years and a real determination.

Arsenal fans will like him.

65 ”

What does Martinelli have to do for a hat-trick ?!

Nelson’s ball into the middle brushes the head of the Brazilian and the goalkeeper makes an awkward save.

Any firmer contact and it would have been Arsenal’s fifth of the day.

63 ”

Willock breaks through the middle of the park and attempts to pick out the run of Bellerin, who came steaming from the back.

The pass is slightly overhit however and it goes out for a goal kick.

Superb run by Bellerin either way – he would have been in if the pass was right.

61 ‘

A rare Standard chance.

Mpoku fires a volley from 10 yards towards Martinelli and the goalkeeper is forced to make a solid stop.

57 ”KEY EVENT

GOAL! Arsenal 4-0 Standard (Ceballos)

Right on cue. Thanks, Dani!

Martinelli picks up the ball on the touchline and chips the ball over the goalkeeper. It’s probably not going in itself so Ceballos made sure by prodding it into the back of the net.

A very east four for the Gunners.

57 ”

Dani Ceballos has been another player who has been sneakily impressive tonight.

While Standard are allowing him time on the ball, he is conducting everything that Arsenal are doing.

There will be much tougher tests for Arsenal but this has been simple.

54 ”

Another hat-trick chance for Martinelli!

Tierney plays in Nelson down the left-hand side and with a little shimmy, he finds himself in the box and squaring for Martinelli.

Despite the great run, Martinelli can only get his toe on it and it is not enough to divert it goalwards.

50 ”

Nothing major to report in the opening stages of the second half.

As expected, Arsenal dominating possession.

While we type, Martinelli slips at the crucial moment as Tierney plays the ball into his feet in the box. Almost a great chance for the hat-trick.

46 ”

(Second half underway)

Off we go again!

Unai Emery looked happy as he walked out for the second half – and why wouldn’t he?

Can Arsenal be just as clinical this half?

HTKEY EVENT

Half-time: Arsenal 3-0 Standard

Well, it was pretty emphatic truth be told.

Arsenal were brilliant for the first 45 minutes and the 10 minute period where all three goals were scored was just ruthless.

Martinelli with two, Willock with one. Tierney and Bellerin both effective and lively.

A lot of be excited about if you are an Arsenal fan.

Clear penalty for Arsenal. Stone wall – but turned down!

Nelson has his legs taken by the goalkeeper after he got to the ball first.

The referee indicated that Savic touched the ball, but replays show otherwise!

43 ”

Free-kick on the edge of the area is taken by Torreira.

However, there is not enough bend to get round the wall and get back on target.

40 ”

Martinelli is forced into a routine save following a shot from Bolijevic.

Was never going to be too hard for him to stop that effort.

39 ”

Some slick football from Arsenal – until they get on the edge of the box.

Not loads of quality in the final third of the pitch since the third goal. But then again, they don’t need to have. All Arsenal have to do is control the game and they are doing just that.

Bellerin is looking lively.

36 ”

Not much to report at the moment.

Arsenal have been reasonable in possession but the pace of the game has slowed somewhat.

Standard are standing off challenges and not offering much when they do get the ball.

It very much feels like game over already.

32 ”

It’s safe to say that Mustafi’s vision for passes is pretty poor.

He’s just tried to play a pass which, in all honesty, never existed.

He gifted the ball to Standard deep into the Arsenal half , but thankfully for the Gunners the chance came to nothing.

Mustafi not doing much to endear himself to the Arsenal fans.

27 ‘

A little shout out for the wonderful Joe Willock.

He has been everywhere in the final third during this first half an hour and rightly has the goal to boot.

He’s finding time and space when he gets on the ball and his quality has been brilliant.

Consistency might be his problem but he’s certainly on it tonight.

25 ‘

A small chance for Martinelli’s hat-trick.

Willock gets in down the left-hand side and pulls the ball back across the goal, but it is just behind the in-form Brazilian.

Only Aubameyang has more goals this season than Martinelli … and he has only played 120 minutes or so!

22 ‘KEY EVENT

GOAL! Arsenal 3-0 Standard (Willock)

It has been ruthless. It has been clinical. And rarely for a Europa League game, it has been entertaining too.

Nelson tried his luck from the edge of the area, the effort was blocked but it fell to the feet of Willock, who placed the ball down the side of Savic and into the bottom corner.

It’s 3-0.

19 ‘

There’s another little wake-up call for Arsenal.

A dangerous free-kick is whipped across the six-yard box and it forces a touch from Martinelli to put it behind for a corner. Any touch from a striker and it was likely a goal.

The aforementioned corner comes to nothing.

17 ‘

Almost a third immediately after kick-off!

The ball is played up to Willock but he can only lift his effort over the bar.

Rampant from the Gunners. Really, really impressive.

16 ‘(KEY EVENT)

GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Standard (Martinelli)

Martinelli is the man!

He picks up the ball inside the area and after some slick footwork, he shifts the ball onto his right foot and fires low and hard into the corner.

Arsenal look like they have themselves a little superstar in the making here!
