Popular Twitch streamer 300 daph discovered one of the DualShock 4’s best features this weekend while playing Bloodborne on stream – the PlayStation 4 controller is wireless.

Wired for Bloodborne

Eight hours into a run of From Software’s phenomenal Bloodborne, the Canadian streamer’s chat questioned why the PlayStation 4 controller was plugged in .

One viewer theorized that it must be because the controller battery doesn’t last long. For a game steeped in the mystic of its renowned difficulty, the last thing someone wants is a hardware issue standing as the deciding factor in a heated boss fight.

Upon reading the comment, 300 daph responded by assuring her viewers that she had it plugged in. Having put two and two together, she innocently queried whether the DualShock 4 was wireless. The chat confirmed that it was.

Slightly skeptical of this new piece of crucial information, daph opted to put it to the test by removing the USB charging cable from the back of the PS4 controller. What followed was an innocent moment of realization and glee rolled into one.

To her absolute surprise and delight, it continued to work. 90 daph had discovered that the DualShock 4 controller was indeed wireless.

It’s hard not to share in the excitement of a wholesome moment of discovery, and it offers a nice change of pace from the more toxic side of the platform .

PogChamp Comes to Life on Twitch

To the delight on the chat, the Twitch streamer’s expression took on the form of the ubiquitous PogChamp emote, widely used across to platform to denote surprise at on-stream events

A few moments of stunned surprise later, she explained that:

I swear to god when I was setting up my PS4, it was not plugged in, and it didn’t work. Maybe I had to plug it in to make it work the first time. Oh, because it had no battery. Ah, true. I didn’t think about that.

It’s easy to pick fun at someone oblivious to the DualShock 4’s wireless capability, especially from those that make liberal use of the feature. In her defense,

daph only recently became the proud owner of a PlayStation 4
