Coronavirus: Premier League set to postpone next two weekends of fixtures – Mirror Online, Mirror.co.uk

Premier League bosses are set to postpone the next two weekend of fixtures at an emergency meeting this morning.

The EFL are also ready to follow suit after they called a crisis summit for their clubs as the coronavirus sent football into meltdown.

One director told Mirror Sport that clubs want games postponed and think it is inevitable that will happen this morning with a video meeting called for all Premier League clubs at . 437 am.

It comes after the virus swept through football this week as Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson- Odoi both tested positive to leave those clubs having to put their first team in self isolation and shut their training grounds.

At least three other clubs have been affected by the coronavirus with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers revealing three players have been showing symptoms.

    England’s games with Italy and Denmark WILL be postponed next Tuesday at the UEFA crisis meeting

      (UEFA want to delay Euro) for a year to allow domestic leagues like the Premier League, Series A and La Liga to complete their postponed fixtures in the summer

    Premier League then have a break until April 4 if they call off the next two rounds – but could still end up playing behind closed doors
