The poll comes amid a red-on-red war in the Labor Party over who should take over from Mr Corbyn.
MP Lucy Powell warned against replacing Mr Corbyn as leader of the party with shadow Brexit secretary Mr Starmer and she claimed the Labor Remainer would be unfit to lead.
Ms Powell, who assisted Ed Miliband during his leadership campaign, also claimed that merely replacing Mr Corbyn with a new leader would not solve the huge problems striking her party.
She said: “Many of these underlying trends began many years ago.
“We’ve been losing support in our heartland communities for many years.

It comes as shadow chancellor John McDonnell has confirmed he will not be part of Labor’s next shadow cabinet following the party’s crushing defeat in Thursday’s election.
