A lucky UK ticket holder has become the Britain’s largest ever Euromillions winner tonight, Camelot has confirmed.
The ‘must win’ jackpot in the European lottery came as the draw hit its maximum payout for only the fourth time in history, having rolled over 22 times.
The player matched all five main numbers – 07, 10, 15, 44, 49 – and the two lucky stars – 03, 12 – in Tuesday’s draw.
The Camelot chief said his team will look to “guide” the winner as they come to terms with winning a life-changing sum of money.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “One incredibly lucky ticket-holder has scooped tonight’s enormous £ EuroMillions jackpot
“They are now the UK’s biggest ever winner. Players all across the country are urged to check their tickets as soon as possible.”
It giant win comes after the previous largest ever lottery winners in the UK,Colin and Christine Weir, divorced eight years after bagging a £ 161 million jackpot in 2011.
