The Tottenham talisman has been privately considering his long-term future for several months , primarily because he wants to be in the best position to challenge for trophies.

Indeed, Kane, who is yet to win a single piece of silverware at Spurs, threw more uncertainty over his future earlier this month, insisting he wouldn’t stay at Spurs for the ‘sake of it’.

News of his receptivity towards a potential move to Old Trafford may serve to encourage Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to launch an audacious swoop for Kane.

Signing the England captain would certainly represent a statement of the club’s ambition, and the fact Kane would be interested leaves the path open for United.

Traditionally, United have a history of signing the continents leading talents and the England international is unquestionably one of the best central strikers in Europe.

Commercially, Kane’s capture would have potentially lucrative benefits for United given his position as England captain.

But it is on the pitch where he would be most valuable; the prospect of Kane working alongside fellow English strike talent Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood is particularly exciting.

Tottenham’s £ million price could well prove a major stumbling block, indeed there is confidence at the north London club that no club will get close to their valuation during what is likely to be a subdued transfer window due to the coronavirus crisis.

But United are one of just a handful of teams who could finance a swoop for Kane, if they have the appetite to do so.

Reports in France from sources close to the midfielde r have indicated Ndombele is considering his future at the club, news which isn’t being disregarded.
