NEW YORK – Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the Astros and Yankees was postponed on Wednesday amid heavy rain in the New York area, setting up the possibility of four games in four days to determine the American League pennant.

Game 4 will now be played on Thursday at 7: 08 PM CT from Yankee Stadium. Game 5 gets pushed to Friday – a previously scheduled off day – at 6: 08 PM CT.
If the games are necessary, Game 6 will remain as scheduled on Saturday at 7: 08 PM CT at Minute Maid Park. Game 7 would be played Sunday at 6: 38 PM in Houston.
The Astros were set to deploy a bullpen game during Game 4, but the postponement will allow for Zack Greinke to pitch on Thursday on regular rest. The Yankees are expected to counter with Game 1 starter Masahiro Tanaka, who spun six innings of one-hit ball during a 7-0 win at Minute Maid Park on Saturday.
What the teams plan to do beyond Thursday is unknown. Astros ace Justin Verlander would be on regular rest for a potential Game 5 start, as would Yankees Game 2 starter James Paxton.
