Tens of thousands of demonstrators marched to the US consulate in Hong Kong yesterday appealing for help fromPresident Trumpin their campaign against the increasingly heavy hand of Beijing.
The marchers waved American flags and chanted “Fight for freedom! Stand with Hong Kong! ”As they presented a petition to consulate staff.
Chinese state media said the rally was proof that foreign forces were behind the protest and warned foreign governments not to “interfere in any form in the internal affairs” while calling on protesters to “stop trying the patience of the central government”. This morning thousands of school pupils formed human chains in districts across Hong Kong in solidarity with protesters.
