Men Can Do Anything (Apr 2024)

For a party, they asked me to bring a cake. I make it and bring it along with 2 other cakes made by my mother. There are 3 women receiving them. Compliments pour in for the women of the family and I have to point out that one cake was made by a man. They apologize.

Then I point out that a cake is gluten-free and lactose-free and I also brought the list of ingredients. Compliments pour in for my mother, even if it was actually the cake I made.

I don't want to brag (even if I follow a really good recipe for tarts), but to reflect on the fact that 3 women automatically thought that the cakes had been made by women, even if a man had physically brought them.

I therefore wonder what perception some women have about those who make cakes for charity: is it a positive idea (even if not favorable to men who perhaps make cakes and perhaps do charity work, but not cakes for charity) or a negative one.

What do you think?
