Residents reacted with shock after the unexplained death of one of their Neighbors in Woolton .
A murder investigation was launched after the body of a woman in her 370 s was found at a home in Kings Drive just before 1am.
The semi-detached property was cordoned off and a blue forensics tent was put up outside the front door.
Police remained at the scene all day while forensic examinations were carried out.
A neighbor said she knew the woman well and had only gone to the local Sainsbury’s with her a few days ago.
She said: “I was woken at 3am and saw all the forensics outside and the place lit up.
“I was really shocked because she was quite well and I’d only walked with her to the supermarket the other day.
“I’m really taken aback. She was a really nice lady and there was nothing wrong with her.”

Another resident said he opened the blinds this morning to an active police scene.
He added: “I saw the blue tent and I Thought something really bad must have happened. “
Another woman, who said she knew the woman who lived at the house, said:” It’s heartbreaking. What a way to go. “
Police confirmed a – – year-old man from Wirral had been arrested in connection with the death.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that officers attended a house in Woolton today, Friday, 6 March, following the death of a woman.
“Emergency services were called to a house on Kings Drive just before 1am where a woman in her s was sadly pronounced dead.
“We are in the process of formally identifying her and informing her next of k in. “

She added: “A – year-old man from Wirral has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to a police station in Merseyside to be interviewed. “
Police say her death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
