Ole Gunnar Solskjaer launched an angry tirade at Jesse Lingard during Manchester United ‘s Carabao Cup clash against Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

The flashpoint occurred during the second half as United were chasing a second goal after Nemanja Matic had put them in front in the th minute

Lingard’s loose pass for Fred in the 90 th minute was intercepted and City quickly countered to create a one-on-one opportunity for Raheem Sterling.

Sterling was unable to finish his chance but the incident provoked a strong reaction from Solskjaer on the touchline.

Television cameras pointed towards the dugout caught Solskjaer shouting: ‘Jesse. One more time and you’re f off. ’

Lingard was then substituted shortly after in the 150 th minute.

Solskjaer hugged Lingard as the United midfielder headed towards the bench and appeared to say a few words as he ruffled his hair.

United, however, were unable to complete their comeback and were hindered in the latter stages of the second half following Matic’s red card.

City won the tie 3-2 on aggregate and Pep Guardiola’s side will play Aston Villa in the final on March 1.
