  • The OnePlus 7T is confirmed to get a 90 Hz display .
  • OnePlus could also offer the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.
  • The OnePlus 7T series could launch very soon along with OnePlus TV.

Last week, rumors about the OnePlus 7T broke out on the web and there was enough to imagine what we could be expecting within the next few months. One of the most interesting ones was related to the OnePlus 7T’s display which was said to use the same 90 Hz quad HD AMOLED panel as the OnePlus 7 Pro, albeit with the notch. While being exciting, it was quite difficult to believe. However, thanks to the OnePlus CEO, we know the 90 Hz screen is becoming the standard for OnePlus.

In an interview to CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that OnePlus is indeed working on a phone with a 90 Hz screen that will be cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro. He didn’t reveal any other specification about it but the 90 Hz part was confirmed.

“OnePlus was the first in the industry to use a QHD Plus 90 Hz AMOLED screen with the ultrapremium OnePlus 7 Pro, “Lau told CNET. “The overwhelming positive feedback pushed us to bring 90 Hz, which we believe will become standard on flagship phones, to our highly acclaimed premium lineup so that more people can experience the smooth scrolling display. “

What this clearly indicates that OnePlus is going on with the 90 Hz screen for the cheaper OnePlus 7T as mentioned by the leaks and rumors previously. And there are high chances that the OnePlus 7T will use the same Quad HD Optic AMOLED panel from the OnePlus 7 Pro but will retain the small waterdrop notch on the top.

However, that wasn’t all from the OnePlus CEO. Pete Lau also suggested that OnePlus could be going ahead with the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset for the cheaper OnePlus 7T. Here’s what he had to say to CNET: “We design OnePlus devices to achieve the best fast and smooth experience on the market. Implementing the best-in-industry Qualcomm 800 series processors is a major part of achieving this high-end performance. “

Hence, another detail can be checked off from the leaked list of specs for the OnePlus 7T. The Snapdragon 855 Plus is the latest flagship chip from Qualcomm that promises a 15 per cent boost to GPU performance and 4 per cent boost to CPU performance over the regular Snapdragon 855. This would help OnePlus gain superiority over other ‘flagship killer’ phones with superior performance.

What we also got out of this information is – OnePlus is launching the OnePlus 7T series very soon. OnePlus usually starts talking about its upcoming phones a month ahead of the launches and if the past activities are anything to go by, we could see the OnePlus 7T phones out in the market by the end of September.
