4India became the first side to win four consecutive Tests by an innings margin. They beat South Africa by innings in the last two Tests of their previous series before winning both Tests against Bangladesh by a similar margin.
7This was India’s seventh consecutive Test victory – the most they had in succession. They beat West Indies 2-0 in the Caribbean before whitewashing South Africa 3-0 and Bangladesh 2-0 at home. The previous longest run they had was six successive wins under MS Dhoni between February and November 2013, all at home. India finish 2019 with seven wins and a draw in the eight Tests they played.
