UK weather forecast: Met Office issues FOUR days of warnings as Britain faces battering – Express.co.uk, Google News


Regions across the UK are already facing the threat of flooding thanks tocontinuing rainfall. And now, the nation is likely to face another four days of rain with flood fears at an all time high.

Some areas across the country, particularly in the north of England, are only just recovering after being hit by ferocious floods earlier in the month.

The Met Office has issued yellow warnings from Sunday until Wednesday with between (mm and 60 mm of rain predicted to fall

Forecasters have predicted that a number of homes and businesses could flood.

There are currently around 60 flood alerts, meaning that the public should be prepared to take action if need be.

Firefighters in the southwest have warned drivers to stay away from flooded roads.

Areas such as Devon and Cornwall will be the worst impacted.

Yorkshire was one of the areas which suffered badly from floods earlier on this month.

Villages and towns around Doncaster and Sheffield, along with the Midlands, were drenched and even ha d to have the army called in to help.

Doncaster Council has since said that 970 homes and businesses in the town were affected by the rain between November 7 and 15.

Sunday will see torrential rain across the southern and eastern Scotland.

Southern Wales and the southwest will also be hit hard by the rain.

Seven flood warnings and 60 flood alerts have been issued by GOV.UK.

Sky’s weather producer Chris England said: “The rain will become largely confined to northeast Scotland by morning, but there will be a few light showers in the west and some fog and drizzle on the hills.

“Britain will see showery rain spreading from the South West on Monday , with sunny spells and more scattered showers following to the South later. “

There was a warning for further downpours in the southwest and Wales from 12 pm on Tuesday until 3pm on Wednesday.

There are also warnings in Yorkshire , Humber and the east Midlands for the whole of Wednesday.

Sunday will mainly be dull and misty with some drizzle in the morning.

But it will turn brighter and drier before further wet and windy weather reaches the southwest going into the afternoon and evening.

Tonight w ill see the rain get even heavier, spreading across southwest England and Wales.

Elsewhere will be mainly cloudy and mild.

Outbreaks of rain will spread northeast on Monday with some sunny spells in the southwest.

But there is a risk of thundery showers on Monday too.
