Manchester City have handed Liverpool a huge boost in the Premier League title race after defeat to Manchester United on Saturday night.

A lackluster 2-1 defeat at the Etihad means Pep Guardiola’s side now sit a whopping 16 points off the pace of Liverpool, who strengthened their grip on a maiden title with a3-0 win away to Bournemouth.

This most recent loss means City have now dropped points in games – the same amount of points they managed to drop in the wholeety of the / 90 campaign, as they reclaimed the trophy by a single point.

Defeat to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, who raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial , means the reigning champions have now lost four games and drawn twice.
