ARSENAL manger Unai Emery has reflected on tonight’s last-gasp win.

He told BT Sport: “Our aim in this competition is to top the group. Each match is a chance to use different players and grow experience and little by little get better. We didn’t play like we wanted but we showed good spirit. It’s a good victory.

“We have more information for the away game and for different players it was good to play tonight.

“Some players need experience and playing sometimes under pressure at this level and the first half we didn’t play or control the match as we wanted and we were losing so with the substitutions we wanted to take control and impose more. We didn’t play offensively like we wanted but again the players showed good spirit to come back after the first half.

“It’s important for Pepe. He can gain confidence from tonight. When he scores it’s good for him and the team. He’s getting better, playing minutes, playing matches and scoring goals like tonight and he helped us tonight to win this match. ”

NICOLAS PEPE was the star of the show as Arsenal scraped a 3-2 win o ver Vitoria in the Europa League.

The £ 72 million man silenced his critics with two incredible free-kicks after Gabriel Martinelli’s first-half strike.

PAUL SCHOLES has incredibly urged Manchester United to sign Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil.

The Old Trafford veteran, 44, believes the German midfielder , 31, could be a “short term” solution for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ozil has made just two appearances for the Gunners this season after failing to impress Unai Emery.

Speaking on BT Sport, presenter Jake Humphrey said: “We think you might have got the answer though [to United’s problems] – Mesut Ozil.

“I knew you wouldn’t want me to say this on air but we were watching the game and you said someone like Ozil would make a real difference in this team.

“He’s completely not involved for Arsenal this evening.”

Scholes responded: “Yeah, I can’t understand it. I think he’s a player who can link a team together.

“I think he’s got great quality, he’s shown that in his career.

“He could be an answer short term, I don’t know.

“I think that would be up to him ultimately, if he wants to take a pay cut.

“No, I probably can’t [see it happening] but I just think he’s the type of player, short term, that Manchester United could do with.”
