Read Smart Card

My friend, who owns several buildings with laundry facilities, gave me a couple of laundry machines along with some preloaded cards-enough to last a year. He instructed me to return the cards when they run out so he could reload them. However, now that I’m nearly out of credits, he’s too busy to assist with reloading. I’d prefer not to trouble him repeatedly, so l’m looking to do it myself. Despite having some computer skills, l’ve hit a snag. I purchased various card readers from Amazon, installed the necessary drivers, and experimented with different software that supposedly could interact with the card, but none recognized it. After extensive searches and digging through nearly decade-old forum posts, I’m still at square one, without even knowing the card type or the ISO standard it adheres to.

In a bit of a risky move, I bought a “laundry logic reader” from an eBay seller ( https://ibb.co/jh3gS43 ), which came as a plain black box without any labels. It appears in my device manager as a Serial Port, and despite attempts to establish a connection using PuTTy, l’ve had no success. This could be right reader because when I insert a card light stays green while other card reader display no light.

I’m running out of options and am hoping the community here might help me figure out how to at least dump or read the card. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
