Daniel insists that it’ll do them good to get away, although his brother Peter and nephew Adam worry that it’s not such a wise idea for him to be away from his main sources of support.

When Daniel sticks to his guns and says it’s best for everyone, he heads off for his trip with Bertie.

Watching on , Beth is distraught and fears for Bertie’s future, worried that she’ll never see him again if Daniel chooses not to return.

Beth needn’t worry, asCoronation Streetboss Iain MacLeod recently confirmed that Daniel will have storylinesrunning into next year.

Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel, also teased his character’s futureby saying: “There’s been a foreshadowing of the self-destructive element of Daniel, and you’ll see that first.

“It’s the snap of the elastic, so you can’t expect him to keep it together straight away. He has Bertie to focus on, but that’s the next stage of the story. Sinead has told him all of these things, to forgive himself [for kissing Bethany] and all of that, but it’s all caught up in the death.

“He now has to unpick all of that, the meaning, and the message of what she said and actually apply it. But with the trauma and shock, you get away from that as quickly as possible. a bit of time to implement. “

He added: “Even though he’ll try to be stoic for the sake of the baby, you can’t suppress the worst parts of your personality. The nastiness, the bitchiness, and moaning that he’s very good at!

“He doesn’t want to do that because of Bertie and the promise that he made, but it’ll probably seep into everywhere else and go onto other characters.

“We’ve filmed stuff like that already. They’ll get his bad moods because he can’t do it to his kid. “

Coronation Streetairs these scenes on Monday, October 28 at 7. 30 PM and 8. 30 pm on ITV.
