Man Utd scouting mission

Manchester United will make another check on Kai Havertz tonight when Bayer Leverkusen take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The Germany international has caught the eye of scouts and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to lure the two-footed ace to Old Trafford.

The Daily Star report United will jet in senior personnel for this evening’s game to again run the rule over the highly-rated Havertz.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the 20 – year-old, who was handed his first senior international cap earlier this season.

Man Utd takeover talks

United’s owners, the Glazers, have been backed to sell the club to a Saudi Arabia in recent times – but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

The Red Devils supremos have come under fire from fans in recent times, with many blaming them for the club’s fall from grave in the six years since Sir Alex Ferguson walked away.

Many Manchester United fans believe they’d be better off under the Saudis. Rich foreign investors from the Middle East have, after all, turned Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain into giants of the game.

But The Athletic claim United have dismissed claims the Glazers are about to sell.

It’s claimed that the Red Devils have insisted there’s ‘nothing’ in the reports.

Man Utd job in sights

Ralf Rangnick is interest in taking the reins at Old Trafford if Manchester United decide to get rid of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The RB Leipzig chief is said to have turned down Bayern Munich, who cut ties with Niko Kovac over the weekend.

And Bild reporter Christian Falk reckons Rangnick is holding out to see if he will receive an approach from United.

Solskjaer is under the cosh in Manchester and Ed Woodward may wield the ax if United do not improve soon.

Christian Eriksen plan

United reportedly think they can sign Tottenham star Christian Eriksen in January – but not in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have admired the Denmark international for a number of years with interest dating back to Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at the helm.

Manchester United nearly signed Eriksen in the summer but opted to pull out of a transfer amid fears he preferred a move to Spain.

And the Metro claim United believe they can sign Eriksen in January if they make an offer to Spurs.

They reportedly think they have no chance of winning a straight race for the playmaker at the end of the season.

And that means United have just over two months to get a deal for the Tottenham star done.

Personal terms agreed

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with an ‘unnamed target’, The Metro claim.

They say the Red Devils are confident of signing at least one player in the January transfer window.

Mario Mandzukic could be the unnamed transfer target.

Express Sport understands the Red Devils are keen on the Juventus striker, who has struggled to get game time with the Italian giants this season.

Woodward makes transfer decision

United chief Ed Woodward is prepared to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer £ 73 million to spend on new recruits when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Red Devils are keen to add some fresh faces to their squad in the New Year amid their troublesome Premier League campaign so far.

United have won just three of their first 11 games and face a huge task to finish in the top four, currently sitting 10 points adrift of Chelsea.

Back in the summer, United sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan for £ 73 m.

And, now, the Metro claim Woodward has decided to give Solskjaer the full amount to spend on reinforcements.

Man Utd to block exit

Manchester United will block any bids for Marcos Rojo in the January transfer window.

Rojo looked surplus to requirements under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season as he struggled to get into the starting line-up.

A move away from Old Trafford in the summer looked likely, as Everton closed in on a possible deal.

But United at the last minute decided against accepting a loan deal, leading to the transfer falling through at the final hour.

And The Sun report Solskjaer doesn’t want to lose the defender in January.

A United insider told The Sun: “The manager has been impressed with how Marcos has knuckled down since he almost left for Everton.

“He hasn’t moaned about it, Ole k nows he is a top defender when he can keep himself fit.

“He doesn’t see anybody available out there in January who could improve on Marcos. ”
